Artist Bio,

Ayla received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia in May 2025. She is a Maine-born and raised, Philadelphia-based, visual fine artist whose work relates to how complicated grief can be depending on your past experiences, relationships and how you’re loved one passed away.

She is known for her oil paintings and sculptures that focus on realism through surrealistic, dark, and poignant elements. She draws on both the sentimental and painful aspects from her childhood to create art that speaks to her present-day perspective on her father, his addiction, and the tragic way he passed.

A defining feature of Ayla’s artwork is a blood-red foundation, symbolizing the persistent emotion of anger she experienced growing up with an alcoholic father. Her artwork continues to explore personal grief and trauma, in reflection to the complex relationship she had having an alcoholic father, and how he was murdered in 2023.
